Who we are
This website and the Glasgow CEOs & Founders Meet & Greet are run by the Stephen Akintayo Foundation (“we”, “us”). We are responsible for the personal data you give us through this website.
This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have. It applies to this event website only.
What we collect
When you register, we collect:
- Your full name
- Your email address
- Your phone number
- Your company name
We also receive basic technical information when you visit, such as your IP address and browser type. Our hosting and font providers process this automatically to deliver the page to you.
We don’t ask for payment details. The event is free.
How we use it
We use your details to:
- Process your registration and manage the guest list.
- Send you your confirmation, venue details, timings and other information about this event.
- Contact you if something about the event changes.
- Keep the room curated, for example by checking registrations are from founders, CEOs and business owners.
Under UK data protection law, our lawful bases are:
- Taking steps at your request, to register you and give you a place at the event.
- Legitimate interests, to run a safe, well-organised event and to send you communications about it.
We will only send you marketing about other Stephen Akintayo Foundation programmes if you have agreed to it. You can opt out of any email at any time using the unsubscribe link or by contacting us.
Who we share it with
We don’t sell your personal data. We share it only with:
- Formspree, which receives and stores registration form submissions on our behalf.
- Our email and communication providers, to send you event messages.
- The event venue, where a guest list is needed for entry.
- Authorities, if we are required to by law.
If you choose to join our WhatsApp community, that happens on WhatsApp, not on this website. Your phone number and profile will be visible to other members, and WhatsApp’s own privacy policy applies.
International transfers
Some of our providers, including Formspree and Google, may process data outside the UK, for example in the United States. Where this happens, we rely on the safeguards the law requires, such as the UK International Data Transfer Addendum or the UK–US data bridge.
How long we keep it
We keep registration details for up to 12 months after the event, so we can handle follow-ups and plan future events. After that we delete them, unless you have agreed to hear from us about future events or the law requires us to keep them longer.
Photos at the event
Photos may be taken at the event and used on our website and social media. If you would prefer not to be photographed, tell a member of the team on arrival. If a published photo of you concerns you, contact us and we will consider removing it.
Cookies
This website does not set cookies and does not use analytics or advertising trackers. Fonts load from Google Fonts, which means your browser connects to Google and shares your IP address with it.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law, you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Ask us to correct or delete it.
- Object to, or ask us to restrict, how we use it.
- Ask for a copy of it in a portable format.
- Withdraw consent at any time, where we rely on consent.
To use any of these rights, email us using the details below. We will reply within one month.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO). We would appreciate the chance to resolve it with you first.
Changes
We may update this policy. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
